Raymond âBudâ Leibenguth, 93, of Lafayette, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born January 18, 1920, in Monitor, the son of Raymond and Melinda Peter Leibenguth. On May 11, 1940, he married the former D. Pauline Biery; she preceded him in death on April 26, 2002.
Bud graduated from Dayton High School in 1939. He lived in the Monitor area for most of his life. Bud worked as a plumber from 1952 until his retirement in 1982 and was a member of Local 157. He was also a member of Dayton United Methodist Church where he was the oldest member.
Surviving Bud are his children, Ron Leibenguth and Rosalind (Robert) Ummel; five grandchildren, Diana Smith, Troy Leibenguth, Tammy Wilson, Melissa (Jeff) Bull, and Doug Ummel; 13 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Bud is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Hilda Waid and Helen Kern; and two grandchildren, Johnny McDowell and Alicia Leibenguth.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Dayton Cemetery with Pastor Earl Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Memorials in Budâs name may be made to the donorâs choice.
