Rebecca Ruth Fields, 105, formerly of Michigantown, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort.
She was born August 7, 1909, in Boyleston, to Samuel Malhon and Martha Ellen Ostler Weaver. On January 28, 1928, she married Edgar V. Fields in Frankfort; he passed away November 6, 1979.
Rebecca was a life-long resident of Clinton County. She worked for Cover-All Factory which was later Jules Simon as a seamstress in addition to being a personal seamstress for many people in and around Clinton County. Rebecca was a member of Michigantown Christian Church.
Surviving are her children, Samuel (Carolyn) Fields of Michigantown, Jerry (Linda) Fields of Valparaiso, Barbara Catron, Norma Hillis, Patsy (David) Avery, all of Michigantown, and Carolyn McQuinn (Mack Trenary) of Kirklin; and son-in-law, Robert Swem of Forest; 22 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 49 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Swem; parents, six sisters, two brothers, and one grandson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 2:00 â 6:00 p.m. Funeral service for Rebecca will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Karl Kercheval officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rebeccaâs name may be made to Michigantown Christian Church or Michigantown School Renovation.
