Rhonda Lou (Beisel) Burkle

Rhonda Lou (Beisel) Burkle, 73, Rossville, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, while in Hospice Care at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Tippecanoe County on December 19, 1951, to Kenneth Lamar and Annabelle Louise (Webb) Beisel. She married Ivan L. Burkle on December 17, 1972. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2003.

Rhonda was a 1970 graduate of Rossville High School. Over the years, she worked several jobs: clerk at the Clinton County courthouse, beautician at Curling Iron Style Shoppe (home office), title registration at Melody Homes in Lafayette/Tipton, title registration at Mike Raisor Pontiac, pharmacy tech at Rossville CVS, and store clerk at TJ Maxx. She was an avid sports fan, mainly watching and cheering on Purdue basketball, the Chicago Cubs and Indiana Pacers. Over the years, she attended the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, Pyrmont United Methodist Church, and the Rossville Brethren Church, along with attending services at Rossville Presbyterian Church. She loved traveling with her late husband on their many vacations. Also, she was especially fond of attending events involving her kids and grandkids over the years, as well as attending basketball games of her beloved Rossville Hornets. She loved spending time with her family and being a part of family get-togethers, and truly enjoyed the many times her classmates would meet at Treece’s for lunches, as well as her beloved Lunch Bunch gatherings each week.

Rhonda is survived by her two sons, Nathan (Sarah) Burkle & Neil Burkle; sister, Retta Taylor; brother, Bruce (Jeannie) Beisel; grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Hudson, Carson & Cain, along with her nieces & nephews. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff, nurses and doctors at IU Health Arnett and IU Health Methodist for their kindness, compassion, and care given to Rhonda during her stay.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4-8pm and Thursday, February 27 from 10am unitl the time of the service at 11am at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel. Pastor Allen Weldy will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Athletic Department.
