Richard A. Goris, 60, of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Mulberry Health and Retirement.
He was born on May 7, 1955, to C. Everette and Veroca (Rubright) Goris. He married Deborah (Gangwer) Shockey in 1975, and they later divorced.
Richard attended Rossville High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Rea Magnet Wire for 8 years and then became a self-employed truck driver for 30 years.
Surviving with his mom are two children, Richard (Naomi) Goris Jr. and Lana (Jeremy) Crum; five grandchildren, Zoey, Trinity, Clayton, Chase, and Colton, all of Rossville; one sister, Janice Goris of Frankfort; three brothers, Randall (Irma) Goris of Rossville, Robert (Peggy) Goris of Cutler, and Roger (Kathy) Goris of Owensboro, KY. Also surviving are one uncle, William (Judy) Rubright, several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, C. Everette, and infant sister, Joyce.
The loving care given by Great Lakes Hospice and Mulberry Health and Retirement made the pain of Richardâs passing greatly diminished.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 pm to the start of the funeral service at 6:00 pm. Pastor Rick Marcus will officiate.
