Richard Badger

Richard Allan Badger, 65, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away April 17, 2018, in Chattanooga, TN, Erlanger's CVICU.  Richard was born in Rockford, Illinois, on January 3, 1953 of Scottish & Irish lineage. Parents, Richard J. "Dick" Badger (manager of the former Woolworth's) and Margaret "Peggy" Loftus Badger, (dedicated nurse's aide at Clinton County Hospital), are interred in Green Lawn Cemetery, in Frankfort, IN.  Also preceding him in death, is a brother, Drake Badger, who is interred in Green Lawn's military service section and a daughter, interred in Evansville Lutheran Cemetery, who was stillborn in 1985.  Survivors include: wife, Amy Jo Koch Badger, of Huntland, TN; sons, Richard Adam Badger, of Augusta, GA, and Nicholas Patrick Badger, (wife Lyndsie) of Lafayette, IN; sisters, Jean (Larry) Badger Williams, of Frankfort, IN and Nancy (Ben) Badger Wyman, of Norfolk, VA. and close cousins, Gina Pirosko Miller and Angela Pirosko, who reside in Northwest IN. Richard is also mourned by nieces & nephews: Jennifer Williams Robbins, of Lafayette, IN, Jason Williams of Frankfort, IN, Jeff Williams, of Frankfort, IN and Janelle Williams Demaree, of Indianapolis, IN. 

Richard's wit & humor, his love of country, and devotion to family and friends, will be cherished by all who knew him. He loved da (Chicago) Bears, fishing, gardening, and Indy 500 activities. Richard graduated from Frankfort High School in 1972, whereupon he joined the U.S. Naval Forces, serving on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk until 1975. Richard & Amy met in Frankfort, and were married there, at St. Mary's Church, on September 3, 1977. Richard enjoyed a long career in HVAC sales, design, and technical support. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Farmer's Home Furniture, in Winchester, TN. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at St. Mary's Church, Gruber Hall, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. followed by inurnment with military honors at Green Lawn Cemetery. A dinner will be provided for family and friends in Mueller (K of C) Hall at St. Mary's. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to your favorite Veterans or Soldiers organization.  Online condolences can be made by visiting www.gendafuneralhome.com
