Richard J. Clendenning, 63, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at Signature Health Care at Parkwood in Lebanon.
He was born June 12, 1949 in Frankfort, the son of John and Opal (Reichart) Clendenning.
In 1968, Richard graduated from Clinton Prairie High School. He served in the US Navy from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam War. Richard was a lifelong resident of Clinton County, leaving to serve his county and also for 10 years while residing in Fort Wayne.
Surviving Richard are his sons, Kent Andrew Clendenning (companion, Crystal Wilson) of Stockwell and Brian Jeffrey Clendenning of Frankfort; one sister, Linda Jo (Dr. James) Brown of Angola; 2 grandchildren, Kolten Clendenning and Jasmine Clendenning; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 5:00 p.m. until the memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Tim Gasham will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Fair Haven Cemetery.
Memorials in Richardâs name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
