Rita Arlene McQueen, 81, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.
She was born December 10, 1931, in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the daughter of Walter A. and Hilda I. Chagnon Gray.
On June 29, 1953, she married Philip McQueen; he survived.
Rita graduated from Pittsfield High School and later attended Concord Business College. She moved to Frankfort from Crawfordsville in 1968. Rita, along with her husband, worked side by side at Thrifty Supply and the family business, Philâs Tool Rental, until 2002.
In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by her son, Philip âRustyâ McQueen Jr. (Linda) of Frankfort; two daughters, Suann âSusieâ Surber (Bob) of Frankfort, and Marissa Rhoades (Rick) of Concord, North Carolina; one sister, Jane Osborne of New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Alisha, Josh, Kati Jo, Dusty, Kenzi Lyne, and Shane; and eight great grandchildren, Luke, Gracie, Roeman, Riley, Nellie, Rae, Raegan, and Josie.
A private celebration of Ritaâs life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Ritaâs name may be made to St. Jude Childrenâs Hospital, Clinton County Humane Society, or Guardian Angel Hospice.
