Robert E. Dunbar

Robert E. “Bob” Dunbar, 91, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at his son’s home.

He was born February 7, 1925, in Frankfort, to Joseph and Vivian Routh Dunbar.  On February 29, 1964, he married Gertrude Louise Buntin; she preceded him in death in 2011.

Bob attended Frankfort Schools.  He served in the United States Army during World War II.    Bob was owner and operator of Superior Home Improvement. He was a life member of the V.F.W., and member of First Church of the Nazarene.  

Surviving Bob are one son, Anthony “Tony” Dunbar of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Ryan, Skylar, and Shayla; and two brothers, Walter Dunbar of Texas, and Joseph Dunbar Jr. of Florida.

In addition to his wife, Bob is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lloyd and Woodrow.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Gregg Davis will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort with military honors.  Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to the American Heart Association.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
