Robert E. Scott, 86, of Mulberry, died on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
He was born July 14, 1926, in Frankfort, the son of Harold P. and Rosena Pearl Hengst Scott.
On December 18, 1943, he married the former Betty J. Crum; she preceded him in death on November 5, 2005.
Robert attended Kilmore and Scroggy High Schools. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Air Force during World War II from February 1945 to September 1946. Robert worked at Unilectric. He attended Jefferson United Methodist Church and was a Golden Eagle member of Eagles, member of Vesta Masonic Lodge 136 where he was a past master, past worthy patron of the Jefferson chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and lifetime member of Wildcat Conservation Club.
Surviving Robert are daughter, Patricia A. Douglass of Frankfort; son-in-law, Rob Gascho of Mulberry; three grandchildren, Cindy (Mark) Newbold, Charlotte (Mike) Carlson, and Larry Douglass; 11 great grandchildren, Luke (Kristin) Newbold, Andrew (Bunni) Newbold, Sarah Newbold, Ashley Carlson, Cameron Carlson, Jeremy (McKenna) Crick, Brittany Gideon, Seth Douglass, Tyler Douglass, Kirah Douglass, and Ethan Douglass; three great, great grandchildren, Jason Gideon, Hayden Crick, and Adelyn Carlson; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Hemmerling, Wilma Scott, and Pat Scott; and one aunt, Ruth Hengst.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Janet Kay Gascho; two brothers, Harold Scott, Jr. and Glenn D. Scott; and one granddaughter, Michelle McCoy Crick.
Visitation for Robert will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 4- 7 p.m. with a Masonic service to follow at 7 p.m. Funeral service for Robert will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013, at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort with graveside military honors.
