Robert âBobâ Eugene Dague, 83, of Flora, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2016 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
Robert was born on May 11, 1932 in Decatur, IN to Harold âHapâ Dague and Anna M. Oakley Dague. In August of 1976, he married Phyllis Jean Zook, who survives.
Robert attended Pleasant Mill High School outside of Decatur. He was a proud US Navy Veteran and fought in the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion Post #222, as well as a member of the Elks Lodge of Decatur. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association, Chapter 27.
Additional surviving family members include, two sons, Donald A. Dague of Pendleton, IN, Col. (Ret.) Robert J. Dague (Ann) of Monument, CO; two daughters, Beth Dague Brown of Anderson, IN and Paula C. Rector (Tom) of Newnan, GA; one step-son, Donald Steven Brower of Flora; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents, two brothers, John Smith and David M. Smith; one sister, Frances E. Smith; and one step daughter, Sharon Lee Brower-Whitaker.
Funeral services for Robert Dague will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home, Reinke Chapel in Flora. Pastor Jeff Tomson will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00pm.
