Robert H. King, 85, Kirklin, died at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon.
He was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Scircleville, to Virgil and Jesse (Walker) King. He married Imogene Harris July 10, 1949, she survives.
Mr. King was a member of the Kirklin Volunteer Fire Department, the Kirklin Town Board, past commander of the Clifton E. Peterson Post 310 American Legion, a member of Siloam Lodge #609 Masonic Lodge, and a member of Union Labors and Hod Carrier Local 274. He coached little league and Babe Ruth baseball teams. He was a veteran, having served in both the Merchant Marines and U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Cheryl Arion, David King, Rick King, J. Chris (Mary) King, and Cindy (Mike Evans) King; brothers: Kenneth King and Roland King; sisters: Velma Boone, E. Joan (Jim) Brown, Jewell Haskett and Phyllis (Percy) Powell; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Gerald R. King; brothers: Roscoe King and Gifford King; and sisters: LaVonna Patchett and Dorthea Mae Boone.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Genda Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held following visitation at Oak Hill Cemetery with full military rites.
