Robert L. Power, 88, 1101 E. South St., died at 10:45 a.m. April 19, 2011, at Clinton House Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Power graduated from Frankfort High School in 1941 and attended Purdue University in 1942. He received naval air training and flight school at DePauw University. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II.
He worked for J.C. Penney, Coca Cola, aluminum plant and Mack Machine.
He was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion, Masonic Lodge No. 54 and Scottish Rite, and a former member of Frankfort Jaycees. He enjoyed ham radio and previously sang in a quartet at Hope Church.
He was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Frankfort to Ray E. and Mary C. (Worline) Power. He married Lois M. Henderson on Jan. 27, 1945, and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2010.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra S. Anderson of Frankfort and Cindi (husband Herb) Danner of Frankfort; one son, Dennis A. (wife Gerry) Power of Normal, Ill.; one brother, Norman P. Power of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Joe Barker, Damon Gerald, Steve Anderson, Lyddia Cerny, Wendy Budde and Molly Burgin; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Genda Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Calling is 4-7 p.m. Thursday with Masonic service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
