Robert Lynn Truax

Robert Lynn Truax, 80, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., died on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

He was born July 30, 1932, in Monon, the son of Dayton and May Stevenson Truax.

In June, 1966, he married the former Delores Davis; she preceded him in death September 23, 2008.

Robert served in the United States Air Force.  He worked in the hotel business and also for the railroad.  Robert enjoyed sports especially baseball and basketball; he was an avid golf enthusiast.

Surviving Robert are his sons, Randall Dunham of Rossville, Robby (companion Ginger) Truax of Monticello, KY, Ricky (Rhonda) Truax of Oak Ridge, TN, Roddy Joe (Tammy) Truax of Knoxville, TN, Ryan Jeffrey (Tosha) Truax of Oliver Springs, TN; his daughters, Rhonda (Juan) Montes of Clinton, TN, Rynda (Danny) Hardwick of Clinton, TN, and Rheda (Lee) Howard of Oliver Springs, TN; his siblings, Dayton Junior Truax of Lafayette, Jane Cosner of Swanton, VT, and Larry Joe Truax of Frankfort; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rusty Truax; and one brother, Richard Ray Truax.

Visitation for Robert will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Mowery officiating.  Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
