Roger D. Warthan, 39, of Kirklin, died on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at his home.
He was born on February 22, 1973, in Lafayette, the son of Roger D. Warthan, Sr. of Lafayette and Patricia D. Lewis Cox of Kirklin.
On July 10, 2004, he married the former Kari Harshbarger; she survives.
Roger grew up in Detroit before returning to Kirklin. He graduated from Clinton Central High School in 1992 and received his associateâs degree in law enforcement from Vincennes University in 1995. Roger worked at Chrysler in Kokomo for 17 years where he was a member of the UAW. He greatly enjoyed spending time and playing with his children. He was an avid fan of Colts, Michigan, and Lions football.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one daughter, Bristol Nickolle Warthan at home; one son, Braylon Jaxson Warthan at home; one brother, Gary (wife, Lisa) Warthan of Kirklin; three sisters, Jessica Warthan of Kirklin, Sherry Warthan of Frankfort, and Alicia Warthan of Frankfort; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation for Roger will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 2-6 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at the funeral home with Celebrant Chad Douglass officiating. Burial will follow in Kilmore Cemetery.
Memorials in Rogerâs name may be made to the March of Dimes.
