Ron Basler

Ron Basler, 65, of Michigantown, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday February 26, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 27, 1959, in Indianapolis, IN to John Basler and Mary (Sutton) Basler. 

He joined the U.S. Army in 1978. After his time in the Army, Ron did house remodeling and worked at the Angry Donkey. 

Ron was very religious, but he was also a free spirit who enjoyed drinking a cold beer, target shooting, and he loved to garden. His family was his greatest enjoyment. 

Ron is survived by his children, Austin Basler and Brianna (Trey DesNoyers) Basler; brother, Wes Basler; sisters, Bonnie Plummer, Garnet Haste, and Nancy Tibbet; grandchildren, Charles and Eleanor DesNoyers; Mother of his children, Melissa Hobson; and best friend, Keltie Sullivan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Greg Basler. 

A private family burial will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville, IN.
