Ronald Lee Cotner

Mr. Ronald Lee “Ron” Cotner,  went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 18th, 2017. Mr. Cotner was born in Logansport, Indiana, on November 8th, 1946, to Albert and Elva Cotner.

During his youth, he also lived in Atlanta, Georgia, Cleveland Ohio, and South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, with a degree in Education—with a primary focus in the areas of both History and Special Education. He was the husband of Julie Ferris for close to twenty years and had two children during that time. Mr. Cotner is a veteran of the United States Air Force and also worked as the Circulation Manager for the Indianapolis Star and News for many years

He is survived by his son, Robert Cotner, of Terre Haute, Indiana, and one grandson. Mr. Cotner spent much of his life with his long-time companion, Gale Handy of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Melinda Cotner.

Graveside service will be on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Maple Lawn Cemetery, with full Military Honors. Pastor Jeff Landon  will Officiate the service Local arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel.
