Ronald Eugene Younker

Ronald “Ron” Eugene Younker, 56, of West Lafayette, formerly of Pyrmont, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Heritage Health Care in West Lafayette. He was born March 1, 1968, in Lafayette to Donald and Mary (Roark) Younker. He married Melissa “Missy” Vinard on September 28, 1996, and she survives.

Ron was a graduate of Lafayette Jeff High School in 1986. He was a jack of all trades. He owned a cleaning business, REY’s Cleaning Service. He also worked at, Lafayette YMCA, Tippecanoe Public Library, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and was a basketball referee. He was an avid sports fan, especially Cubs baseball. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing chess. He was a man of strong faith and loved his Lord and Savior. He was a man that never met a stranger and loved to talk with people and make new friends. He was fun loving and enjoyed life, and always had a joke to share. The love of his life was his family and loved being a father and grandfather.  

Along with his wife of 28 years, Ron is survived by his daughters, Ann (Justin) Thiele; Kendra (Jack) Willke, Regan (Dakota) Thomas, and Rileigh Younker; sisters, Mary Ann (Allen) Lovejoy and Donna Lieske; grandsons, Brayden, Timothy, Dakota, and Easton.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be held, Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1 to 4pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Monday, October 14, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Randy Adams will officiate. Burial will follow at Pyrmont Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to your local YMCA. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
