Roscoe âRockyâ Finney, 93, of 1501 E. Walnut St., Frankfort died at Mulberry Health & Retirement Community on Monday, October 11, 2010. He was born on November 29, 1916 in Clinton County, Indiana near Boyleston to parents Albert & Ina Elsie (Brammell) Finney.
Rockey was a lifelong Clinton County resident. He graduated from Michigantown High School in 1934. He worked many years on the Bill Lucas Farm, then retired after 20 years with the Clinton County Highway Dept. Roscoe took to bowling later in life & he achieved the 1993 Male Super Senior award in the Indiana State Senior Singles Tournament. He was an avid reader and gardener. Songs were always going through Rockyâs mind or through his harmonica. He so much enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Paul Phillippe Center. He was a member of Country Chapel Church of God, where he was a past elder, treasurer, Sunday School teacher and song leader.
He married Marjorie Newton on February 14, 1939, and she passed away in May of 1981. He later married Patricia A. Huffer on September 18, 1981, and she survives.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, one daughter, Betty (husband Larry) Townsend of West Lebanon, IN, 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Marjorie, one son, Paul Finney, three brothers and one sister.
