Rosemary Newhart, 81, of Mulberry, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born March 1, 1933, in Frankfort, the daughter of Arthur M. and Audra Maxwell Thomas. On December 26, 1954, she married Wayvern A. âBudâ Newhart; he preceded her in death March 25, 2008.
Rosemary graduated from Frankfort High School. She retired from Emerson Electric. Rosemary was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.
Surviving Rosemary are her children, Mark (Beth) Newhart of Mulberry, Dean (Genie) Newhart of Mulberry, Rene (Jerry) Kemmerer of Frankfort, Lisa (Brad) Hudspeth of Lafayette, and John (Theresa) Gabriel of Frankfort; sisters, Barbara Carlson of Frankfort, and Ruth Coffee of Lafayette; 15 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Neal Newhart.
Visitation for Rosemary will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Daniel âHarleyâ Helm will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rosemaryâs name may be made to Clinton County Cancer.
