Roy E. Boggess, 73, of Frankfort passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. He was born February 19, 1944 in Frankfort to John Esten and Thelma Eilene (Rayls) Boggess. On February 25, 1978, Roy married Glenda Reppert. They later divorced yet remained friends throughout their lifetimes.
Roy was a 1962 graduate of Frankfort High School and a lifelong area resident. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the United States Navy from 1965-1969. He worked for Eli Lilly and retired in 2005 after over 27 years of service. Roy enjoyed music; both singing and arranging. He also liked fishing and tinkering around in the garage on lawn equipment and cars.
Surviving family includes two daughters, Carol Stogsdill of Frankfort and Ellen (Kyle) Jenkins of Whitestown; special companion, Earlene Copas of Tipton; two grandchildren, Camden and Stephen Stogsdill; one sister, Connie (Don) Tolley of Lafayette and three brothers, Tom (Von) Boggess of Lebanon, Bob (Sheila) Boggess of St. Louis, MO and Jeff Boggess of Frankfort.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Roy will be held from 1 â 5:00p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. The funeral service will be at 10:30a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
