Ruby Joan Norris-Allen

Ruby Joan Norris-Allen, 88, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis at 5:45 p.m.

She was born January 2, 1927, in Forest, to Emerson and Mabel Schimmel Albaugh.  On August 10, 1946, Joan married Leonard Ray Norris; he preceded her in death on February 16, 1974. In January, 1977, she then married Arthur Preston Allen Sr.; he preceded her in death on October 6, 1990.  

Throughout her life, Ruby was homemaker and worked at Jules Simon and later worked for National Cigar Company in Frankfort until her retirement in 1989.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge.  

Joan is survived by two sons, Michael Norris (companion, Rachael Curl) and Ronnie (Cathy) Norris, all of Frankfort; two daughters, Dianna Leopard (companion, Mark Thompson) of Frankfort, and Sana Norris of Houston, TX; brother, George (Cindy) Albaugh of Florida, half-brother, Steve Albaugh of Frankfort; one half-sister, Sandy (John) Moundy of Frankfort; eight grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Joan is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ricky Allen Norris; four brothers, Harold Albaugh, Kenny Albaugh, Glen Albaugh, Richard (Maxine) Albaugh, and Robert Albaugh; and half-brother, Jack Albaugh.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
