Ruby L. Mattingly

Ruby L. Roush Mattingly, 90, of Kirklin, died at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.

She was born Sept. 16, 1921 in Johnson County, to John L. and Emma (Minner) Roush. She married Joseph D. Mattingly Dec. 27, 1941. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 2006.

Mrs. Mattingly graduated from Trafalgar High School. She  retired in 1986 from Mallory after 25 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and her grandsons were her pride and joy.

She is survived by a son: John Richard (Mary Ellen) Mattingly of Frankfort; two grandsons: John C. (Kristy) Mattingly and David Mattingly; and five great-grandchildren: Samuel, Tessa, Grace, Josie, and Kate.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Jones and Cora Hinton; two brothers: Robert Roush and John Roush; and one great-grandson: Ty Mattingly.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 23 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Christopher Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30- 11 a.m. at Genda Funeral Home the day of the service. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery.
