Ruby O. Ticen Carney, 97, a lifelong Clinton County resident, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Witham Health Services in Lebanon.
The youngest of eight, Ruby was born May 13, 1917, near Middlefork, to William L. and Julie Ellen Ridenour Ticen. On October 18, 1947, she married Robert Alton Carney in Frankfort; he preceded her in death on May 19, 1986.
Ruby graduated from Burlington High School in 1935. She was a homemaker and a member of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church in her youth and then attended Middlefork Church where she taught childrenâs classes and was custodian for several years. Ruby was a talented seamstress for family and friends and for Hillsdale Manufacturing Co.
Surviving Ruby are her children, Judith (Bill) Brock, Janice (John) Davids, Dan (Joyce) Carney, and Roger (Janet) Carney; four grandchildren, Wendi Brock, Dawn Brock, Brad Davids, and Shawn Carney; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ruby is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Nikole Carney Reed; two brothers, and five sisters.
Visitation for Ruby will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, with Pastor Cliff Howell officiating.
