Russell M. Hazlett, 87, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Mulberry Health.
He was born March 9, 1928, in Cambria, to Lloyd I. and Delight Armington Hazlett. On August 24, 1947, he married Wilma J. Burkhalter; she survives.
Russell graduated from Rossville High School in 1946. He worked for 17 years as a mechanic at McGonigal, and retired in 1991 from Sun Chemical in the shipping department. He was a member, trustee, and elder of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church, and member of the Beard Masonic Lodge. Russell enjoyed woodworking and making objects from stained glass. He was a true âJack of all trades,â and the ultimate âMr. Fix It.â
In addition to his wife, Russell is survived by his children, Alan (Anne) Hazlett, Brad Hazlett, Doug (Cathy) Hazlett, Jeni (Dave) Royalty, and Mari Ann (Mike) Paton; brother, James C. Hazlett; brother-in-law, George (Billie) Burkhalter; sisters-in-law, Doris Burkhalter and Jane Burkhalter; ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Lucile Atchley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to the start of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Mae Leach will officiate.
