Ruth Anna Wettschurack, 95, rural Lafayette, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Born Oct. 15, 1916, in Clinton County to the late Robert and Laura (Peters) Landes. She attended Mulberry High School. Married Charles L. Wettschurack on Jan. 1, 1936. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1990.
She worked as a janitor at Dayton Elementary School for many years. She also worked at the Mulberry Lutheran Home prior to to the school. She was a member of the Dayton Home Ec. Club, Star Lanes Senior Bowling League and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, her birds and cats, and being with her grandkids.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Taylor (husband: James M.) of Lafayette and Elaine W. Sigo (husband: Lanny) of Lafayette. Also surviving are six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death by a son, Charles R., two brothers, Earl and Cleo, and a sister, Melinda.
Services are 3 p.m. Monday November 28, 2011 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Mulberry. Pastor Mike Crawford officiating. Burial at Fair Haven Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service at Gloria Dei. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimerâs Association.
