Ruth Eileen Rush, 87, of Frankfort, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born November 27, 1924, in Frankfort, the daughter of Herman and Hattie Rising Hibbard.
Eileen graduated from Jackson Township School in 1942, and later from Indiana Central Business College.
On June 8, 1957, she married Donald L. Rush; he preceded her in death on August 11, 1981.
Eileen worked for the USDA, past treasurer of Clinton County Red Cross, and volunteered at the Clinton County Historical Museum and Genealogy Society. She was a member of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority. Eileen was a lifelong and very active member of Antioch Christian Church; she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, was senior organist for 45 years, and was past president of Antiochâs Womanâs Fellowship. Eileen was a past president of both the Congregational Christian Church Association and Church Women United. Eileen also played the organ for Frye and Genda Funeral Home. She was a lifelong resident of Clinton County before moving to Angola in 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Suzzette (Yves) Schmit of St. Louis, MO, and Debra (Mark) Preuss of Angola; step son, Bill Rush of Sunnyvale, CA; step daughter, Donna (Mac) Clark of Spring, TX; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charles Hibbard, and one great granddaughter, Prudence Brown.
Visitation for Eileen will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Antioch Christian Church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service. Funeral service for Eileen will be at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor David Klipp officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
