Ruth Ellen McCain

Ruth Ellen McCain, 91, of Delphi, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.  

She was born January 12, 1923, in Grant County, the daughter of Wayne and Bertha Brasfield Green.   Ruth married William K. Roberts on June 6, 1944; he preceded her in death August 18, 1965.  She then married George Robert McCain on December 5, 1967; he preceded her in death September 2, 2013.  

Ruth graduated from Swayzee High School.  She was a secretary for Yeager and Sullivan.  Ruth loved poetry.  

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one sister, Wilda, and one nephew.  

Visitation for Ruth will be held at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora on Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 12 p.m. to the beginning of the funeral service at 1 p.m.  Burial will follow in Grant Memorial Park in Marion.  Memorials in Ruth’s name may be made to Sharon Baptist Church.   Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
