Sandra Jean Gaylor

Sandra Jean Cash McKinzie Gaylor, 77, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born June 4, 1936, in Noblesville, to John and Rosemary Johnson Cash.  On September 10, 1955, she married Eddie G. McKinzie in Frankfort; he preceded her in death on September 29, 1998.  On July 12, 2001, she married Neal T. Gaylor; he survives.

Sandra attended Cicero Grade School.  She later moved to Mulberry in 1945, graduating from Mulberry High School in 1954.  Sandra was of Baptist faith.  She worked for People’s Life Insurance Co. and later Del Monte Corporation from 1973 until her retirement in 1996.  Sandra, along with her twin sister, Marcia Wooldridge, took writing classes and organized both the Women’s Ink Circle and XYZ’s Critiquing Circle in 1997.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Scrabble and Bunco.

In addition to her husband, Sandra is survived by two daughters, Julie K. (Jeff) Smith of Lafayette, and Nancy J. (Cory) Willard of Smyrna, TN; two brothers, Jerry R. (Janice) Cash of Frankfort, and Larry J. (Marilyn) Cash of Kokomo; one sister, Marcia Wooldridge of Lafayette; 26 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and five step-sons, John (Sandy) Gaylor, Tim (May) Gaylor, Ricky Gaylor, Darryn Gaylor, and Darryl (Dawn) Gaylor.

She is also preceded in death by two children, Steven McKinzie and Cathy McKinzie; great granddaughter, Taylor Whitney McKinzie; and one brother, Johnny Alan Cash.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Funeral service for Sandra will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating.  Inurnment will be at a later date in Kilmore Cemetery in Kilmore.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sandra’s name may be made to Tippecanoe County Public Library.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
