Sarah Ellen Miller, 85, of Russellville, Ky., formerly of Mulberry, died at 2:58 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Bowling Green, Ky., from an auto accident
She was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Michigan to the late Walter and Sarah Ellen Mitchell Gregg. She had lived in Kentucky for the past five years, and previously in Mulberry
She graduated from Garfield High School, received her bachelor's degree from Indiana State University in teaching and later her master's degree from Purdue University.
She taught fourth grade at Mulberry schools for many years. She also taught at Pine Village schools and was a substitute teacher after she retired.
She married Chester Eugene Crose on April 21,1950. He preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1984. She later married Kenneth Miller on June 15, 1989. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1991.
She was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women Group, and sang in the choir. She also was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association.
Surviving are son, Jeffery L. Crose of Frankfort; and two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Dill (husband: Randy) of Russellville, and Mary Ruth Thomans (husband: Chuck) of Franklin, Ky.; a stepson, Larry Miller of Minnesota; and three brothers, Russell Gregg (wife: Betty) of Bloomfield, Ind., Clyde Gregg (wife: Nancy), and Jim Gregg (wife: Donna), both of Rockville, Ind.
Also surviving are sister-in-law Norma Jean Gregg of Lakeland, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Lou Johnson, a grandchild and a brother.
Services are Friday Jan. 28, 2010, 10 a.m. at Mulberry United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Hummel. Burial will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry memorials can be directed to Mulberry United Methodist Church.
