Shirley Ann Schwartz, 81, of Rossville, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at IU Hospital in Lafayette, IN.

She was born Feb. 11, 1934 in Ambia, IN, to Carl M. and Ruth A. Cauble Pierson.   On March 1, 1953, she married William “Bill” Schwartz who preceded her in death.

Shirley graduated from Dayton High School in Dayton, IN.  She was active on helping on the farm and doing her best to keep the children in line at home.  Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and also enjoyed traveling.  She and Bill put many miles on their GMC Motorhome(s).  They had visited 43 of our 50 states, wintering in Florida, most years. Shirley always had a bright smile for everyone and was loved for her wit.    

Shirley is survived by two sons, Bruce Schwartz and his wife, Kim, of Danville, IN, and Kenneth Schwartz and his wife, Melissa, of Rossville, IN; a daughter, Phyllis Thompson of Rossville, IN; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Shirley will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Private family services were held at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens.  Entombment followed.  Memorials in Shirley’s name may be made to Rossville Masonic Lodge #318.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
