Sue Carole (Jenkins) Gochenour

Sue Carole Gochenour, 82, of Rossville, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at Wesley Manor. She was born in Clinton County to Harrison and Blanche (Maish) Jenkins on September 26, 1942. She married John Gochenour on September 30, 1972, in Michigantown. He preceded her in passing on January 2, 2018.

Sue was a 1960 graduate of Clinton Central High School, then from Methodist Hospital Nursing Program in 1963. She worked as a RN for 41 years; her last facility was Rosewalk Village where she retired in 2004. Sue was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church, the Clinton County Antique Tractor Club, and was a 4-H leader for 9 years. She collected Longaberger baskets, enjoyed sewing, camping and loved taking care of her family, and making memories with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Stephanie) Gochenour; stepchildren, Debbie (Chris) Sampson, Kimberly Lamberson, Tamara (Kevin) Cotton; grandchildren, Ben Gochenour, Bridget Gochenour, Matt Sampson, Ryan (Nicole) Sampson and Eric (Kaitlin) Sampson; two great grandchildren; and nephew John (Martha) King.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan King; and a nephew, David.

Visitation will be held, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at Rossville Cemetery at 1:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s honor to Michigantown Community Center.
