Susan Lee Kirts

Susan Lee Kirts, 51, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Franciscan East Hospital in Lafayette. She was born March 28, 1970, in Lafayette to David and Jacquelyn “Jackie” (Dubes) Koning.

Susan graduated in 1988 from Harrison High School. She trained horses and had served in various officer positions, including Past President, of the Palamino Association. She won the 2014 Open Championship with Teacup, placed first in High Point Amateur in the nation on Teacup in 2015, and had accumulated thousands of points since the early 1980s.

Susan is survived by her father; her son, Justin (Megan) Kirts; four grandchildren, Harmony-Kay, Jaxson, Lainey Boone, and Oakley Carter; and her Toy Australians, Molly and Dot.

She is preceded in death by her mother.
