Timothy âTimâ Dirbas, 70, of Mulberry, died at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 4:45 p.m.
He was born June 1, 1942 in Frankfort, the son of Nick Dirbas and Helen (Phillips) Beard.
Tim married the former Bonnie Dearth at Hope United Methodist Church; they shared over 50 years together. Bonnie survives.
Tim graduated from Frankfort High School in 1960 and retired from Fairfield Manufacturing. He served in the US Marines. He was a member of the Wildcat Conservation Club, American Legion and Mulberry Masonic Lodge #618. Tim enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren and loved to fish, hunt, mushroom hunt and read.
In addition to his mother and wife, Tim is survived by two sons, Brent Dirbas and Bret (wife Deb) Dirbas; one sister, Elizabeth Morris; four grandchildren, Kiersten Dirbas, Ashley Dirbas, Brandon Dirbas and Tucker Dirbas; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Tim is preceded in death by his father and brother, Tom Dirbas.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home-Mulberry Chapel. Funeral service for Tim will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry.
