Virginia ""Ginny"" Snyder

Virginia R. “Ginny” Snyder, 86, of Frankfort, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette.

She was born January 15, 1926, in Frankfort, the daughter of Karl F. and Mattie (Lamb) Mihay.

Ginny worked at Unilectric, Jules Simon, and National Cigar.  She was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  Ginny enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening, baking, singing, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are six children, Mike (wife, Tammy) Snyder, Ron (wife, Cathy) Snyder, Rita York, Randy D. Snyder (companion, Pam Zurface), Theresa (husband, Kerry) McNew, and Lori Snyder; one brother, Karl Mihay; one sister, Dolly Allen; sister-in-law, Toots Kinderman; ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Charles L. Snyder, she is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Walter Mihay; and two sisters, Ethel Patton and Mary Gautier.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  Pastor Dave Klipp will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.

Memorials in Ginny’s name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
