Virginia Jean Daywitt, 89, of Frankfort, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013, at St. Paul Hermitage in Beech Grove.
She was born March 25, 1924, in Frankfort, the daughter of Henry and Carrie Lindley Lane. Jean married Joseph Daywitt; he passed away in 1990.
Jean was a homemaker. She was a Pink Lady at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital and member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, various bridge clubs, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving Jean are her daughter, Patricia Daywitt; nephews, Phil (Brenda) Yeater, Daniel (Deborah) Daywitt, Robert Stephen (Liticia) Daywitt, and Timothy (Kelly) Daywitt; sister-in-law, Glenda Daywitt; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Fran Hopp, Ione Lane, and Eleanor Greek; son, Larry Daywitt; brother-in-law, Robert Daywitt; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Daywitt.
Visitation for Jean will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Robert Stephen Daywitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Jeanâs name may be made to the American Alzheimerâs Association.
