Virginia M. Kinser, 95, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Clinton House Health and Rehab Center in Frankfort.
She was born February 22, 1922, in Brazil, Ind., to the late Roy Andrew and Katherine DeBruler Stewart. In 1945, she married Geoffrey E. Kinser; they met during World War II at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Indianapolis while she was an inspector for Norden bombsights. He passed away in 1997.
Virginia graduated from Brazil High School in 1941. Earlier in her married life, they lived in Indianapolis, Houston, Detroit, and Connecticut. She had lived most of her adult life in Frankfort with a brief time spent in Kentucky. Virginia worked throughout her life as a cashier and clerk in several retail stores. Once returning to Frankfort, she worked at Mallory Controls and later at Montgomery Ward Catalog Store until her retirement in 1984. Virginia enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and reading.
Surviving Virginia are her children, Morris Lee Kinser, of California, and Julie Kinser Stewart, of Lafayette; grandchildren, Annette M. Youkey, Brian P. Youkey, Dianna M. Youkey, and Valentine Soposky; great-granddaughter, Navy Colleen Spiecker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia is preceded in death by sister, Rosemary Stewart Durham; granddaughter, Colleen M. Youkey; and one nephew.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
