Wanda Rose (Torbit) Wagoner, age 92, of Flora, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 12, 2016 at St. Vincentâs Hospital in Kokomo.
Wanda was born on September 30, 1923 in Greenup, IL to Leonard Torbit and Opal (Kelley) Torbit. She attended schools in Greenup, IL. In 1950, Wanda married Leland Wagoner. He preceded her in death in 1998. Wanda was a farmerâs wife, as well as a proud veteranâs wife and a mother. She also
retired from Essex Wire and was a volunteer at the Flora Thrift Shop for over 20 years.
Survivors include her son, Leonard Wagoner of Flora; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Cadwallader of Flora; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Torbit of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Angela Cavanaugh, two brothers, Lowell and Kenny Torbit, one sister, Helen Moore, and one great grandson, Zeke.
A visitation will be held at Genda Funeral Home-Reinke Chapel in Flora on Saturday, July 16 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 17 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Jeff Landon of Flora United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel.
