Wilbert Paul Wolf, 95, of Rossville, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Carroll Manor in Delphi.
He was born September 10, 1919, in Clinton County, to Ray Allen and Mary Ann Reavis Wolf. On August 20, 1941, he married Marjorie M. âMargeâ Ivie in Fairview, MO; she preceded him in death on September 18, 2013.
Wilbert was a life-long resident of Rossville. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands near Alaska attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. He was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church since 1952, life member of Frankfort Elks, member of Rossville American Legion and Member of Rossville Masonic Lodge 318. Wilbert also served for three terms on the Rossville Town Board.
Surviving Wilbert are his daughter, Paula Rae Wolf Davis (companion, Dale Pettiner) of Delphi; one grandson, Troy A. W. Davis of Holyoke, MA; one granddaughter, Melissa D. (Lloyd) Norman of Delphi; one great grandson, Stewart R. (Jessica) McVay; one great granddaughter, Kimberly âKadiâ D. McVay; and three great, great grandchildren, Destiny, Hailey, and Tyson.
In addition to his wife, Wilbert is preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Wolf, and one sister, Clara Frantz.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014, from 2:00 â 4:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014, at Rossville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ruby Kleymann officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery with military graveside honors. Memorials in Wilbertâs name may be made to Greater Lafayette Honor Flight or Rossville Cemetery Association.
