Wilbur L. Ostler

Wilbur L. “Bud” Ostler, 69, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born March 14, 1945, in Frankfort, to Guy and Mary Cody Ostler.

In 1990, Bud retired from Alcoa where he worked in the shipping department.  He was a member of Frankfort BASS Masters and Eagles Lodge.  Bud was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and IU basketball.

Surviving are his son, Jeff (Kristi) Ostler; daughter, Machele (Chris) Stemmetz; sisters, Betty (Robert) Toney and Ruby Smith; brothers, Dale Ostler and Charlie Makiva; grandchildren, Dustin Ostler, Brandon Ostler, Wyatt Ostler, and Courtney (Adam) Kindley; great grandchildren, Ava, Yhia, Baeli, Bentley, and Braxton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, special friend, Ann Stephens; sister, Bertha Toney; and brother, Wilbert Ostler.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 5:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m.  Pastor Kenneth Howe will officiate.  Memorials in Bud’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
