William âBillâ A Lacey, 87, of Frankfort, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at his home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1924 in Muncie, to William Wesley and Elnora (Bisel) Lacey. He married Roberta Phinney Jan. 27, 1947. She preceded him in death March 8, 1986. He married Eileen Fryman Lacy Jan. 18, 2004, she survives.
Mr. Lacey graduated from Portland High School and then received a bachelorâs degree in industrial engineering from GMI. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He lived in Muncie before moving to Frankfort in 1955. He worked for Chrysler as a tool maker and previously worked for Ford and General Motors. He was active in the Paul Phillippe Resource Center, where he had served on the Advisory Committee, had driven for the Meals on Wheels Program and as a volunteer driver for the transportation program. He had also been a representative payee for the Area IV Agency on Aging.
He was a member of First Christian church where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. Former Grand Lecturer with Rainbow Girls, member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge # 54 where he served as past master and as treasurer for 35 years, was an honorary member of 25 lodges in central Indiana and a member of the Masonic Lodge for 59 years.
In addition to his wife in Frankfort, Mr. Lacey is survived by two daughters: Beverly Lacey and Linda (Kevin) Johnson, both of Brownsburg; and three grandchildren: Rachel Johnson, Seth Johnson and Kevin Johnson.
He was preceded in death by an infant son: Charles; four brothers: Alonzo, Harold, Herbert and Dwayne; and two sisters: Carita and Mary Naomi.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at Genda Funeral Home, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall officiating. Burial will be in Elmridge Cemetery in Muncie.
