William âBillâ Fox, 68, a lifelong Michigantown resident, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort.
He was born December 3, 1943, in Frankfort, the son of John and Helen Price Fox.
On June 10, 1994, he married the former Lou Davis; she survives.
Bill was a lifelong member of Michigantown Christian Church. Bill was a graduate of Clinton Central High School in 1961. In 1965, he graduated from Purdue University as an Animal Science major and AgEcon minor where he was also a member of the FarmHouse Fraternity. Bill later achieved his Masterâs Degree in Education in 2000. He was a grain and Landrace and Duroc swine farmer. In 1985, he became a teacher and Head of Vocational Agriculture Department for Clinton Prairie High School Corporation. Through his life, he substitute taught for Tipton High School. Bill was very active with FFA throughout his life including being a State FFA Officer in 1961-1962 and host for the International FFA Exchange Program. He was past president of both the Central Indiana Duroc Breed Association and Indiana Landrace Breed Association, and also past president and vice president of the Clinton County, Indiana, Fair Board. He assisted with the Hoosier Beef Congress and Hoosier Beef Cattle Assn. at the Indiana State Fair where he was also an assistant at the Swine Building in 2004.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by one son, Todd (Missy) Fox of Michigantown; two daughters, Melissa (Jim) Carroll of Kokomo, and Soo Ann (Matt) Boehm of Lafayette; two step-sons, Chip Brandenburg of Lafayette, and Steven Brandenburg of West Lafayette; two step-daughters, Vicky (Robert) Gray and Pam (Charlie) DeWitt, both of Watseka, IL; two brothers, George (Joyce) Fox of New Albany, and Lewis (Deb) Fox of Frankfort; six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4- 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Michigantown Christian Church at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Bob Woods will officiate.
Burial will follow in Whiteman Cemetery.
