William L. âBillâ Davis, 82, of Frankfort, died on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at IU Health in Lafayette.
He was born October 17, 1930, in Glen Morrison, West Virginia, the son of Sedley Lee and Elizabeth Brooks Davis and step mother, Mildred Davis.
On April 7, 1951, he married the former Dorothy M. Daniels; she survives.
In 1961, he moved to Frankfort from Kentucky. He retired in 1995 after 43 years. He was a member of both Local 274 Laborers International Union of North America and Local 103 International Union of Operating Engineers. Bill was also a member of Faith Family Ministries and a Golden Eagle member of the Eagle Lodge 976. Bill was a faithful man to his wife and family. He was a self taught musician who shared his love of music with his family and friends and a man of honor where his word was his bond.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Billy L. (Faith) Davis of Russiaville, Ray A. (Desiree) Davis of Frankfort, and Mark I. Davis of Frankfort; four daughters, Patricia (Terry) Laughner of Forest, Phyllis M. (Ronnie) Laughner of Michigantown, Lorraine (Jeff) Allen of Antioch, and Angel (Pete) Webb of Frankfort; two brothers, Alfred Davis and Lynn Davis; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy Davis; and three brothers.
Visitation for Bill will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Wayne Martin and Cliff Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
