William L. Kiger, 81, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at his home.
He was born on May 1, 1936, in Rainsville, to Bill K. and Ruth T. (Fix) Kiger. On August 6, 1966, he married Glenda Woodruff; she survives.
Bill attended Boswell High School and later received his GED. In 1986, he retired from Alcoa after 30 years of service. He then worked at Purdue University for 12 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of Heartland Community Church, Clinton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rossville Masonic Lodge #318 where he served as Past Master, and York Rite of Frankfort. William enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing euchre.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, Sheri Fell, of Monticello, Wendy (Jean) Lafontant, of Delphi, Julie (Allen) McDonald, of Lafayette, and Christopher (Christy) Kiger, of Oxford; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Sheldon, Tyrell, Seanna, Jeanay, Samantha, Blake, Hunter, Gracie, Jacob (Ashley), Jonathan, Tiffany (Clay), Christiana, and Iana; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Ann Holzkamp, and one great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the Masonic service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral service to honor Bill will follow with Rev. Brandon Smith officiating. An inurnment will be held at a later date in Locust Grove Cemetery in Tab. Memorials in Billâs name may be made to Rossville Masonic Lodge.
