William L. Kleinhelter, 84, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Indianapolis, to William Theodore and Clara Ann Ziegler Kleinhelter. On October 18, 1958, he married Verda Doughty; she survives.
Bill graduated Lawrence Central High School in 1948. From January 31, 1951 to January 20, 1954, he served in the United States Air Force as a Sgt.-Airman 1st Class in the 36th Supply Sq. during the Korean War. On June 8, 1995, Bill retired from Kirby Risk Supply. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, American Legion, and Indiana Municipal Electrical Association (IMEA) where he had held the positions of secretary and treasurer.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by one daughter, Jean (Joseph K.) Catron; and two grandchildren, Tenley (Matthew) Adams and Hadley Catron.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert W. Kleinhelter and James P. Kleinhelter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 2:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Justin Fisher will officiate.
