William W. âBillâ Myers, 91, of rural Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Mulberry Health and Retirement.
He was born March 3, 1925, in Waugh, Boone County, Ind., to Clarence T. and Gladys E. Morton Myers. In 1946, he married Margie Dewlin Langolf, and they later divorced in 1948. In 1952, he married Dorothy Summers, and they later divorced. On October 13, 1996, he married Velma Graves Tucker; she survives in rural Frankfort.
Bill lived in the Kirklin area for 40 years before moving south of Rossville in 1996. He had also lived near Lebanon and in LaPorte throughout his earlier years. Bill was a former firefighter at Kingsburry Ordinance in LaPorte for over four years before taking a position with Reynolds Peat Moss Products for over eight years. On March 31, 1987, he retired from Federal Mogul as a machine operator in powder coating after 22 years. He attended Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, Phillip Wayne (Gayle) Myers of South Carolina, Walt L. (Stacey) Myers of Delphi, Doug Myers of Frankfort, Paula J. (Danny) Dodson of Lebanon, Rebecca A. Shoe of Kirklin, Karen J. (Carl) Shoe of Frankfort, and Lisa L. Evans of Kirklin; step-son, Duane (Jody) Tucker of Tennessee; step-daughters, Kathy (Craig) Michael and Vicki Ball, both of Frankfort; brother, Jack L. Myers of Lebanon; 29 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Bill is also preceded in death by his parents, step-daughter, Patty; five brothers, Carroll, Morris, Lawrence, Robert, and Charles; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Donna Enersen officiating.
