Wilma M. Cottrell

Wilma M. Cottrell, 63, of Frankfort, died at 12:03 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 16, 1949 in Frankfort, to Ezra H. and Vivian (Adams) Godbey. She married Jasper Cottrell, who preceded her in death April 28, 1993.

A lifelong Frankfort resident, she was a 1967 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School. She worked for Direct Care Ability Services. She enjoyed bowling, baking and decorating cakes, and sewing.

She is survived by her mother; two daughters: Jennifer (Gordon) Royer and Shannon (Derek) Akers; one brother: Steven W. Godbey; one grandchild: Dakota Royer; two step-grandchildren:  William Akers and Andrew Akers; and  one niece: Selena Godbey Best.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at Genda Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.
